The flat rectangular base lets the filled bag stand upright, and the front and side panels carry your branding and product information. Bird Seed Packaging Requirements

Bird seed is awkward to pack. Moisture can change the condition of the seed in storage. Fine dust and seed particles can get into the seal area and weaken the seal. Blends mix pieces of different sizes and shapes, which changes how the bag fills. Some seeds carry natural oils, so storage conditions matter. The bag also has to survive filling, handling, stacking and distribution.

No pouch guarantees freshness or stops all moisture getting in. The barrier you need depends on the seed blend, how the bag is distributed and how long it sits in storage.

PCR Materials and Barrier Considerations

PCR means post-consumer recycled material that has been recovered and processed for reuse. A PCR-containing film lets a brand put recycled content into its packaging. Whether it suits bird seed depends on the whole laminate, the food-contact requirements where they apply, the intended use and the barrier you need. Not every PCR film is suitable for direct contact with bird food.

How We Manufacture Flat Bottom Bird Seed Bags

1. Specification review. Dimensions, filling weight, material structure, zipper requirements and artwork layout.

2. Printing. Artwork is placed with the front, back and side panels in mind, including folds and seal areas.

3. Film preparation and lamination. Where the structure needs it, material bonding and process control.

4. Flat bottom forming. Folding, alignment and cutting are controlled for a consistent base.

5. Zipper installation. The zipper is positioned so it works without getting in the way of the top seal.

6. Heat sealing. Conditions are chosen for the laminate, with extra attention at the bottom corners where layers overlap.

7. Finished pouch inspection. Dimensions, zipper alignment, print and seal appearance.

Small errors show in the finished bag. Off bottom folds can stop it standing evenly, and a misaligned zipper makes opening and closing difficult.

Factory SOPs and Quality Control

Production follows SOPs, so each stage is done the same way from run to run. Equipment is cleaned and production records are kept. The checks that matter most for this bag are material identification and visual inspection, print registration and color consistency, bottom fold alignment and finished dimensions, zipper position and how it opens and closes, and the appearance and integrity of the heat seals.

Seed dust is a particular concern when customers fill the bags. Contamination in the seal area affects seal quality, so keep that area clean during filling.

Packaging Testing and Verification

Tests are chosen according to the project. Heat-seal strength testing evaluates how strong the sealed joints are. Seal-integrity or leak testing helps find leakage paths. Tensile testing assesses film strength under pulling. Coefficient-of-friction testing helps assess how the material moves during processing and filling. Zipper function checks show whether the closure works as intended. Not every test is done on every order. Customization, Packing and Shipping

Brands work with us on dimensions, film, printing and closure design. Digital and gravure printing are both available, but neither suits every film structure or order.
